Aim of the Course

Position yourself at the exciting edge of electronic design, power generation and communications as you study one of the largest and oldest fields of engineering. Gain practical and problem-solving skills working on projects in the workplace that will help launch a career as an Electrical or Electronic Engineer. Electronics Engineering is a swiftly advancing field with new ideas emerging every moment. From mobile phones to fiber optics and remote sensing, there are exciting avenues to explore and create.

The objectives for our undergraduate degree course give a summary of what we expect our students to have achieved through studying Electronics Engineering here at BIT. On successful completion of the course, our graduates should have a comprehensive knowledge and a sound understanding of Electronics Engineering together with the practical, analytical and mathematical skills of a engineer. They should have acquired a range of general skills, including the ability to evaluate information, to identify key issues, to solve problems, to complete a task by a deadline, to use computers with confidence, to work productively with other people, to communicate effectively and to learn independently.

Career Opportunities

Graduates in Electronics Engineering have opportunities in Government and private companies for installation, operation and maintenance of electronics equipments and systems. Defence, space and other large research organisations employ electronics engineers in design and development of complex devices and systems for signal processing and telecommunication. Industries involved in design and fabrication of devices, integrated circuits, embedded systems, electronic equipments etc have also provide large scale placements for engineers with this specialization. Installation and maintenance of electronic equipments used for health care in hospitals, equipments & systems for instrumentation and control in process industries automation systems of assembly line in production industries, etc are also handled by electronics engineers.

Knowledge of computer hardware, networking equipments and communication systems enables electronics engineering graduate helped them to annexe an edge in the IT job market. The skills and understanding developed in the course enable them to be preferred, as software professionals by IT companies.
