Student Welfare

STUDENT WELFARE COMMITTEE

Student Welfare committee which takes care of all issues related to student welfare. In order to have an efficient academic environment and progressive development a class committee has been constituted .The toppers of various semesters are the members of this committee. This committee meets thrice in a semester and the progress is discussed and evaluated. Grievances related to academics, if any, faced by the students are discussed and attempt is made to resolve such grievances.

FACULTY ADVISORS:

Nominated Advisors in all the departments of the college are committed to students’ well-being and academic achievement. Each faculty advisor is assigned to a group of 15-20 students every semester. Periodical Faculty Advisor Meeting (FAM) is conducted between Faculty and their students. Each group of the class is counseled by some faculty members. They are told about their attendance, performance, the weak and strong points, and they are advised accordingly so as to improve their performance.

Weekly Attendance

Every week, cumulative attendance up to last Saturday is emailed to students so that they can have a track of their attendance and maintain the minimum 75% attendance requirement as per UPTU. Students whose attendance is less than 75%, they are called upon by their Faculty Advisors and are counselled accordingly. A SMS is also sent to parents every week regarding their ward's attendance.

CLASS REVIEW

Realizing that students’ feedback is an important part, a review of the faculty is taken by all the students of the class in an unbiased manner twice in a semester after 1st and 2nd sessional exams. The review is analysed and all important inputs are taken care of.

PROGRESS REPORT

At the end of every Sessional exam a progress report is sent by courier to all the parents, giving the details about students’ progress both in attendance as well as in Sessional exams.

PARENT TEACHERS MEETING

Every department conducts PTM (Parent Teacher Meeting) at least twice in a semester so that the parents/guardians are guided for proper counseling of their wards. Parents are apprised about the progress of their ward both in terms of attendance as well as sessional exams.

SUGGESTION BOX

Student evaluation plays a very important role in assessing the quality of education delivered and other parameters. Students’ input is valuable and appreciated. A Suggestion Box is kept in the reception area where students can put in their suggestions and any other complaints. The same is looked into by Dean – Student Welfare. All suggestions and complaints are kept confidential.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CELL:

Women’s Grievances Redressal Cell is formed in order to keep the healthy working atmosphere among the female staff & students. This Cell helps them to record their complaints and solve their problems related to academics, resources and other personal grievances. Ragging complaints are handled in the purview of anti- ragging rules.

STUDENT COUNSELING

A dedicated team of Counselors regularly meet students and discuss their issues, if any, pertaining to their academics and/or personal matters. After deliberating on the issue counselors arrive at the amicable solution. If need be, parents’ and college authorities’ help/consent is also taken on the matter.

Student Welfare Department acts as a single window for all students related problems. students having any problems regarding any department can give their application in student welfare department, that could be resolved by the department.
